“IF ONLY”
A program that aims towards violence free families & communities

Centacare Mackay is working with male perpetrators of domestic and family violence to help them change their behaviour. “If Only” is a 12 week program with each session running for approximately 2 hours. Male perpetrators will be encouraged to attend the program for the full 12 weeks.

Topics covered include:

• Theme 1 - Invitation to responsibility
  Men reflect on their behaviour. They will learn about domestic & family violence and where they place themselves.

• Theme 2 - The Way Out
  Men will be learning about choices, and focus on grieving for what they have lost through violence.  Group and individual support, looking at strategies and exploring options will help each man to find his way out.

• Theme 3 - Here’s the Map, Now Stay on the Road
  Men will look at making the necessary preparation for maintaining behaviour change and establishing connected relationships.  Relapse and management of consequences of past behaviour will be a focus. Ongoing support needs will be identified and negotiated.
