RockhamptonAs part of the Queensland Government’s strategy to reduce domestic and family violence, known as ‘Breaking The Cycle’, Centacare provides Intensive Case Management to families in the Rockhampton region. This is a process designed to ensure that families who are struggling with complex challenges are able to access support. A case manager works with a family to support them to make changes across a range of issues with the aim of enabling them to cope with challenges as they arise and develop good support networks and links within their own communities. Centacare delivers community talks, information sessions and presentations on child abuse issues to local organisations, services and community groups who may come into contact with children and families affected by child abuse in the Rockhampton City area. A Child Abuse Prevention Library is also maintained, developed and promoted within the Central Queensland area so as to assist various client groups to access books, videos, programs and journals to further their awareness of child abuse in its various forms, as well as its effect, treatment and prevention. |
