Assists individuals , couples and families,
including separating families to resolve
relationship problems that arise at various stages
of their lives.

Offers assistance to individuals having
difficulty coping with social, personal or emotional
problems of everyday life.
Family and Youth Counselling
Offers assistance to children, youth and their
families to enable them to reach their full
potential where possible in a safe family
environment.

School Counselling
Provided by contractual arrangement with various
schools .
Education
Pre Marriage Education
Provides couples with an opportunity to prepare
for the challenges and adjustments involved in a
lifetime commitment.
An Australian Government Funded
Initiative.
Community Education
Centacare offers a range of psychosocial
education programs usually delivered once a week for
2-3 hrs over a period of 6-10 weeks depending on the
course content.
Natural Family Planning
Helps couples to understand their reproductive
systems and their fertility in order to achieve or

Personal Development Education
Supports teachers and parents in educating
children about relationships, decision-making, and
sexual development.
Child Protection Resource Library
The centre offers community members the
opportunity to borrow books, videos, DVDs and
resource material related to child abuse and its
prevention.

Employment
Employee Assistance Program known as ACCESS
Under contractual arrange with employer
organizations a counseling service is available to
the employee and their immediate family members to
enhance their emotional wellbeing and relationships
and improve their work performance.
Choices Personal Support Program
Offers personal assistance to long term
unemployed people with barriers to employment to
enhance their quality of life and participation in
their community. Must be referred by Centalink.

Community Care
Community Care Services
Offers support to enable frail people and/or
people with disabilities to remain in their own
homes by providing home help, including in home
respite, transport, provision of meals, personal
care, outings and shopping, minor home maintenance
and provision of home medical aids when available.
All clients require initial assessment to be
eligible for assistance.

Commonwealth Carer Respite Centre Central Region
Centre offers respite options for unpaid carers
who look after an aged or person with a disability
for 20 hours or more in a week. For further

Other Programs
Family Reunification Program
Provides a range of culturally appropriate
interventions and supports for children, young
people, families and carers that promotes safe
reunification of children in the care of the
Department of Child Safety with their families when
it is in the best interest of the children to do so.
Must be referred by the Department of Child Safety.

Mediation
This service assists parties in dispute to reach
an agreement . For separating couples this may be
about matters regard parenting, care and residence
of the children, finances and property. The service
also assists in work place disputes.
